First, we want to thank everyone who purchased from us this past Tackle Year 2008. We know we're not the Largest or the Biggest Tackle Shop but we think that we offer you the angler the best selection of Tackle Products. If you're a first time visitor Welcome! Checking back to see what is NEW? We're currently adding NEW for 2009 Tackle so keep checking back as we're updating daily. Do Not forget to check out our Catch of the Day, you will find it at the bottom of this Main Page. Catch and Save!
What makes us different? Simple, we offer the Largest Selection of All Star, Daiwa, Falcon and Pflueger Fishing Tackle. Looking for Hard and Soft Baits? We have the Best Selection of Bandit, GeneLarew, Matzuo, SPRO, Team Daiwa, Wave and YUM. Sure you will find these brands at some of the Large Retailers but will you find Matzuo's Spit & Sputter or a SPRO DAWG 100? What about that Carolina Rig, Cranking or Drop Shot Rod? You will not find Daiwa's Procyon or a matching Procaster Rod for your Procaster Reel. How about that perfect Coastal 6'6" Medium Wade Rod? Check out Falcon's Coastal Series. For us it's not about how many brands that we can carry but offering you the Angler the model in the Brand that you prefer. Sure, we too can carry a few series of Shimano or Quantum like everyone else but that's just not how we do things.
This years marks Daiwa's 50th Year Anniversary so they have introduced some very "Special" tackle that were revealed at this years 2008 ICast. This includes New Team Daiwa Steez 7.1 Baitcasters where light weight meets "light speed". Daiwa updated the TD-Z Series by releasing the Team Daiwa Zillion Series which include Daiwa's exclusive New Swept Handle and line burning speed on the SHA models, now they added a NEW 50th Anniversary "Special Edition" which includes 7.3:1 Hyper-Speed, these reels are limited and have custom serial number. My favorite New Model is the Team Daiwa Advantage-HSTA which is packed with Daiwa's latest Innovations all in a Low Profile Baitcasting Reel. Last year Daiwa added the New Tierra Spinning Reel Series so why not add a New Team Daiwa Tierra Baitcasting Series for 2008? They have and it features Smooth, Solid Baitcasting Performance. This reel matches perfectly with the Team Daiwa Tierra Trigger Rods.
Looking for a traditional round baitcasting reel? Daiwa has brought back the Millionaire Classic in RED just like the original. You have got to check out Daiwa's TD Luna which feature both Left and Right Hand Retrieve models, it's the updated Millionaire CVZ and this reel gives the Shimano Calcutta's a run for it's money!
Looking for the World's Most Technologically Advanced Spinning Reels? Look no further than the Steez and Certate, Daiwa's flagship spinning reels. Ok, most anglers cannot afford the New Steez or Certate so check out the Team Daiwa Tierra, matched with the Team Daiwa Tierra Rods and they are a Killer Combination! Looking for a Great Coastal Spinning Reel? Look NO further than Daiwa's NEW Coastal Inshore Spinning Reels. And then there is the NEW Sealine Black Bite N' Run for those anglers seeking both maximum saltwater durability and Daiwa's Bite N' Run clutch system.
Looking for an affordable Big Game Conventional Reel? Look no further than Daiwa's SALTIST and NEW Saltist Level Wind Series with Daiwa's Exclusive "Full Metal Jacket" demanded by today's ultra-strong braided lines and mono. Added in 2007 was the SALTIGA Surf with a Special Light Weight Spool for you Surf Guys.
Did you know that Daiwa Rods have more BassMasters Classic wins than all other rod brands combined? Honed to technique-specific perfection by America's top touring professionals, there are simply no finer rods available at any price. Just ask Mike Iacanelli, winner of the 2003 BassMasters Classic, Takahiro Omori, winner of the 2004 BassMasters Classic or Jay Yelas, winner of the 2002 BassMaster Classic. What do they all have in common? They use Team Daiwa Rod and Reels. Added for 2008 is the New Team Daiwa Zillion and Signature Mike Iaconelli Series. I was surprised to see a New Procyon Series of Rods for 2008 being that Daiwa Discontinued the Procyon Series of reels a few years back. Hey, they may not have a matching reel but these are one nice series of rods that feature a lightweight yet durable IM-7 Graphite blank, this series is a Great Value! Looking for a Smallmouth Series of Rods? Check out Daiwa's New V.I.P Smallmouth Speciality Rods, their beautiful.
It was during the 2007 ICast Show I decided we would add Pflueger Fishing Tackle. I was impressed with Pflueger's NEW for 2007/2008 Tackle, especially the Supreme Spinning & Summitt Baitcasting Reels, plus by adding Pflueger we have expanded our Fly Tackle offering. Added for 2007/2008 is the NEW Patriarch, this is Pflueger's NEW Flagship Baitcast Reel which includes features like, ten (10) double-shielded stainless steel ball bearings, "Ultimate Brake System" which combines both centrifugal and magnetic brakes and a Lightweight aluminum frame. I have been using Pflueger's New Infusion 7635SS Spinning Reel matched with an All Star Classic 6' Moderate-Light Rod and I have enjoyed fishing with this reel, it is a very smooth 5 ball bearing reel and has a solid feel due to being an all aluminum body. Check out the New Infusion, you will not be dissapointed that you did! Also added for 2007/2008 is the NEW Supreme XT, Pflueger's NEW flagship Spinning Reel which includes features like a Lightweight durable magnesium body and rotor, nine (9) stainless steel ball bearings with corrosion resistant bearings in key locations and a sealed drag system. Yes, it would have been easy to just add Shimano but have you looked at Pflueger lately?
When it comes to Tackle Storage nobody has done it better than Plano Tackle Systems and 2008 is no exception. The NEW FlipSider System is AWESOME! And the Rack Systems have a few NEW models and are a Great Value. Looking for a Soft Bag? Check out the Guide Series Gear Bags.
With all the pressure by the Big Sporting Goods Retailers being put on American Rod Manufacturers most companies have moved production over seas to reduce labor cost. We are still happy to say that Falcon Graphite Rods out of Oklahoma continues to build every rod here in the United States, one rod at a time. If you're looking for a quality rod, made in the USA check out Falcon Graphite Rods. You will find both Freshwater and Coastal Series Rods
All Star continues their tradition of being the Great American Rod Company. I know, they do offer a few models that are made in China and these are typically the ones that you will find in the Large Retail Stores but they do continue to build Great American Rods right here in Houston Texas which include the Platinum, Team All Star and Classic Series, the ASR Series is assembled in China. I learned that the Classic Series has been Discontinued for 2009 and this obviously was a Big Dissapointment as these rods could NOT be beat for performace and craftsmanship at a very affordable price, I should know I use both a 7' Carolina Riggin Baitcasting and a 6' Light Action Spinning All Star Classic Rod so get one now because when there gone there gone!
We have a GREAT selection of Hard Baits by APEX, Bandit, Matzuo America, SPRO and Team Daiwa, Soft Baits by Gene Larew, YUM and WAVE which are developed and tested right here in Yantis Texas, the home of Legendary Bass Lake (Lake Fork). Is there a better lake to test new products? I have field tested a few of their New for 2008-2009 baits, the 4" WAVE Creature was the ticket for me on my last trip out fishing the Zoom Brushhog. I can't wait to try the 3-D Tiki Water Scorpion and Swim Bug.
We're always evaluating Tackle Manufacturers, if you have any questions regarding a brand or model, send us an email and we will be happy to tell you what we think or if we're currently considering them.
Anglers, one final note, please remember to support you Local Tackle Shops as our very existence is being threatened by the Large Department Stores, in the end you the consumer will lose out!
